He specialized in figure paintings. Beside a flowing stream grows a luxuriant forest. In the shade of verdant trees, horsemen urge their steeds into the water to wash. Others stand in the water to groom their horses. The horses linger in the cool, cleansing waters of a mountain stream. In this painting, the grooming of horses serves as the focus of an idyllic scene.
