Beneath their boughs, master and servant sit in a small boat near the shore. This blue-and-green landscape exhibits particularly fine brushwork.Ch’iu Ying (ca. 1494-1552), one of the "Four Masters of the Ming Dynasty," was a native of T’ai-ts’ang, Kiangsu. His style-name is Shih-fu, and his sobriquet is Shih-chou. He was a lacquer artist originally, and later met Chou Ch’en (fl. 1450-1535), under whose tutelage he gradually gained fame as a painter.
