Judging from the style of his works, he must have lived during the Ch’ing Dynasty. His plum blossoms, with their outlined leaves delicately shaded with pink and the stamens dotted in, are extraordinarily true to life and capture the nature of old plum trees. The gold ground of the painting lends a special brightness to the colors.
