The steady technique and tight thread is balanced by the lively composition and coloring. The head of the bird was cleverly rendered with zig-zagging colors, in which threads of two colors were twisted together to form a single one. The result is an animated and naturalistic effect. This is the fifth leaf from the album Ming-chih hua-niao hsieh-sheng ts’e.
